A pressure regulator for pneumatically controlled heating and cooling systems has a flexible diaphragm 14 clamped by a sleeve 16 to a peripheral shoulder 20 of a raised portion 12 of a base-plate 10 to form with an annular channel 30 a pressure chamber connected by a conduit 52 and restrictor R to a pressure source. A knob 18 in threaded engagement with the sleeve 16 carries a spring 72 biasing the diaphragm against the boss 32 having a bleed orifice 34 connected to atmosphere via duct E, chamber 50, and ports 46. The diaphragm regulates the pressure in the pressure chamber, which is connected to an outlet OP, according to the spring-loading that is variable by rotation of the knob 18. The outer end of the spring 72 is carried by a keeper 70 on a calibration screw 68 in the knob while the inner end of the spring is carried by an integral keeper central of the diaphragm. A second screw 62 in the knob co-operates with a stop 58 on the sleeve 16 and moving in an arcuate recess in the knob to limit the latter's rotation with respect to dial markings (82) on the base-plate. The latter is fastened to a mounting plate 36 by spring tabs 38 extending through slots 40 in the plate 36.</p> |
