Tubular element for orthopedic cast

The unit (3) has an elastic textile e.g. jersey, substrate impregnated by a polyurethane resin. The unit is stretchable and retractable in a reversible manner by elastic return, in a plane perpendicular to a longitudinal axis when the resin is at a temperature higher than its softening temperature and before recrystallization. The unit, once placed on a traumatized limb, forms orthopedic immobilization when the resin is recrystallized. An independent claim is also included for a process of application of a tubular unit for forming orthopedic setting.
