<p>Flammable organic liquids are electrically loaded by the addition of at least one acid of formula:- (where R is 8-22C hydrocarbyl; R' is hydrogen or lower alkyl; A is oxygen or an imino group; M is a metal (not Group I), m is an integer; and x is the valency of M). The salt may be used in quantities 1-100, e.g. 10-50, g./m3. Spec. salts of N-carboxymethyl-N-hydroxyethyl-N'-undecyl carbonyl ethylene diamine were added to gasoline, kerosine, diesel oil, benzene, toluene and xylene.</p> |
