Granules flow by gravity on an inert support, through several superposed reaction zones. The granules are then returned to the top of the bed, where a fraction is removed and flows downward outside the bed before being joined to the granules leaving the bed and returned together. The separated granules are cooled below 200 degrees C and passed over an inclined plane, where they are sprayed with a solution of the active elements. The spray flow is controlled as a function of the solution concentration, so that the hourly amount of active elements supplied is at least equal to the hourly amount lost in the cycle. Preferably, use is for Cl2 manufacture from HCl or NH4Cl; a concentrated solution of Fe, Cu and K chlorides is used. Specific uses are catalytic cracking, isomerisation, hydrogenation, dehydrogenation, aromatisation, chlorination and dehydrochlorination.
|
