A fastener comprises a resilient U-shaped member having limbs with a plurality of inclined pointed projections on the inner walls which are forced together to grip the material of a garment by a closure member having rigid side walls slidable over the limbs. The fastener comprises a U-shaped member 2 made of resilient plastics material and provided with a plurality of pointed projections 20, set at an angle to the inner surface. The legs of the member 2 are forced together to grip the material between them by a closure member 3 which is pressed downwardly sliding over the legs. The member 3 may be separate from the member 2 or may be combined therewith. If combined, the member 2 is slidable in slots provided between the ends of the side walls of the member 3, and can be raised to grip the material by moving a rod 22 which passes through an aperture in the member 3 and has one end knob 23. When the fastener is closed, a bar 24 at the other end of the rod lies flat against the upper wall 13 of the closure 3 by pushing the rod 22 between the folds of the material. |
