The unit has a combustion air channel, which moves air downstream into a blower for the promotion of a gas air mixture to a burner surface, as well as to an attached gas armature. The gas air mixture circles around the combustion air channel by a gas feed channel, which leads into the combustion air channel. A spin and or displacement body (3) is inserted into the combustion air channel (1) so that a cross-section contraction in the combustion air channel (1) is provided. A wall of the gas feed channel (4) is formed and after cross-section contraction the gas is added downstream. The gas between the outside coat (6) of the spin and or displacement body as well as an assigned opening (8) is supplied. The coating of the spin and or displacement body as well as the assigned opening are conically arranged. An annular gap having several openings is formed between the coating of the spin and or displacement body and the assigned opening.
