Tubing reaming apparatus comprises a housing adapted to be mounted to tubing to be reamed. The housing provides mounting for a reamer shaft 32 adapted to mount a cutter 30 within the tubing. The housing also provides mounting for a drive arrangement. A gear arrangement is provided between the drive arrangement and the reamer shaft 32, the gear arrangement being adapted to modify the nature of an input to the drive arrangement on transfer to the reamer shaft 32. The drive arrangement may be an operator handle 34 with crank 36, arranged so that rotation of the handle 34 turns the drive shaft 38 which causes gearbox 40 to advance axially through the sleeve 22, so that the cutter 30 advances axially through the tubing whilst it is rotating. Alternatively, the reamer may be power driven. The housing may comprise a clamping arrangement (fig.1) adapted to reduce residual bend and ovality of the tubing. Tubing reaming apparatus including a cutter advance arrangement and a method of reaming tubing is also disclosed. |
