A toy vehicle (10) comprising a hinged, three part chassis (26) having a fir st longitudinal end (12) and a second, opposing longitudinal end (14) and including a central chassis portion (30) with first and second lateral chass is portions (40, 70) pivotally coupled with the central chassis portion on firs t and second lateral sides (16, 18), respectively, of the central chassis portion. The first and second lateral chassis portions are coupled so as to pivot with respect to the central chassis portion in a common plane and spri ng biased against the central portion. Each lateral chassis portion includes a pair of road wheels (42, 44) at least one of which is driven by a reversible motor (46) in that chassis portion.
