CURRENT LEAD OF AN ELECTRODE FOR A LEAD-ACID ACCUMULATOR

The proposed current lead of an electrode for a lead-acid accumulator is designed as a grid that consists of horizontal and vertical conductors that are arranged in a frame having constant cross-section. At the upper part of the frame, a clamp is provided for connecting the current lead with the current leads of the other electrodes. The number of the vertical conductors exceeds that of the horizontal conductors by a factor of 1.6 à 2.4. The compactness of the horizontal conductors increases in the direction towards the lower part of the grid. The joints of the horizontal conductors with vertical conductors are rounded with a curvature radius of 0.4 à 2.0 mm. The proposed design provides a possibility to increase the productivity in producing current leads, improve characteristics of the current lead, and provide uniform current density along the length of the current lead.
