Filter candle consists of an inner perforated metal supporting cylinder, an intermediate mesh forming wide free spaces connecting with the perforations, and a close-fitting external filter sheath. Pref. the spacer consists of an open spiral of a wire of, e.g. stainless steel or resistant plastic such as a superpolyamide wound on the core.
