<p>Core is of finely-divided wood and resin. A uniform number of layers of paper, impregnated with a phenolic resin, is applied to each side of the core. A decorative paper is on the visible surface and is covered with an outer layer of heat-set resin, which also connects it to the impregnated paper. Preferably the outer resin is melamine-based. A transparent finishing sheet impregnated with thermoplastic resin may also be used.</p> |
