The method for the sonography of peritoneal veins in the newborn calves consists in sonographic scanning of umbilical, portal and caudal veins and their intraorgan branches in supra-abdominal and supracostal positions of the ultrasound probe (Scanner 100S apparatus). The echomorphology of the structures under study is then assessed.
