An air vent is provided that is capable of delivering a distributed divergent air flow with a predominant direction of flow that can be changed within a wide range of mutually perpendicular directions. The air vent comprises an outlet grid having multiple outlet openings. The air vent further comprises a cylindrical duct member having a first end connected to an air duct and a second end closed by a wall. The outlet grid forms a circumferential envelope area of the duct member.
