<p>A safety fitting for a door frame, e.g. for a lift shaft, has the pressed metal frame fitted with inserts (7) welded to the frame at points where the frame is secured to the wall of the shaft. The inserts comprise metal pressings with lipped edges. One lipped edge has a hole which aligns with a fitting hole through the frame and through which a threaded fastener secures the frame to a wall mounting bracket (2) fitted to the lift shaft. The inserts brace the frame and prevent distortion in a fire, i.e. prevent gaps opening in the frame.</p> |
