3-and 5-nitro-salicylamides with analgesic - antiphlogistic and antifungal activity

Nitro deriv. of salicylamide or 2-hydroxy-benzamide The compds. I and II. may be prepd. by nitrating salicylamide or 2-hydroxy-benzamide with nitrating acid at 27 degrees C to obtain a mixture of I and II which are separated by crystallisation from n-butanol, II being less soluble than I. The compds. have analgesic, antiphlogistic and antifungal activity.
