A magneto rheological fluid comprises magnetic particles, a dispersing medium and polyethyleneoxide as a viscosity modifier, the polyethyleneoxide being present in an amount of 0.5 to 5% by weight based on the weight of the magnetic particles. The magneto rheological fluid can exhibit an excellent dispersion stability and, more specifically, can exhibit an excellent dispersion stability. Sedimentation of the magnetic particles in the fluid can be prevented.
