Compounds of the general formula (R = alkyl or alkenyl group containing up to 6 carbon atoms) and their salts are prepared by degrading, according to the Hofmann, Curtuis or Lossen methods, a compound of the formula or a derivative thereof, optionally followed by salt formation. The preparation of 1- and 2 - methyl - 3 - cyclohexene - 1 - carboxylic acid hydrazide and 1- and 2 - methyl - 3 - cyclohexen - 1 - ylaminomethanesulphonic acid is described. The compounds of the invention are anorectics and analgesics, and may be administered in the form of phermaceutical preparations containing them together with a carrier.
