FIELD: electrical engineering; electric drives for various machines and mechanisms. ^ SUBSTANCE: proposed power unit for feeding field windings of valve-type electromagnet-excited contactless motors designed for use in electric drives of vehicles, load-lifting machines, main drives of machine-tools, for drives of pumps extracting stratal liquids from wells and drives of compressor pumps functions to feed dc voltage to inverter from power supply and to connect ac phase windings through the latter; field winding is connected in series with phase windings through semiconductor rectifier; rectifier bridge contacts are connected to finishing leads of phase windings and field winding is connected to rectifier bridge outputs so as to ensure instant field current equal to half-sum of absolute values of phase currents. ^ EFFECT: ability of attaining motor output characteristics similar to those of series-excited dc commutator machines. ^ 2 cl, 4 dwg
