摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cutting device for continuous paper employing a laser irradiating device in the cutting mechanism and capable of carrying out high speed processing by irradiating a position of the paper to be cut accurately with a laser beam while the continuous paper is transported. SOLUTION: The cutting device 1 is provided with a laser beam irradiating device 20 and a continuous paper feeding device 10, so that, while the continuous paper P is transported, it is irradiated in the width direction with a laser beam and cut to a desired size; the continuous paper feeding device 10 is provided, along the transporting direction of the paper, with a pair of feeding rollers 5, 5 and a pair of high speed rollers 6, 6 which run at a higher speed than the feeding rollers and which holds the paper P in between for cutting. The laser beam irradiating device 20 is also provided with a paper cutting point S between the feeding roller 5, 5 and the high speed roller 6, 6, with an optical device by which this cutting point S is irradiated with a laser beam, and with a control device 11 by which a laser beam is emitted after the paper P is held by the high speed rollers 6, 6 for cutting with a prescribed tension applied.
