A toggle closure device for mills for inert and/or recycled materials, said mill comprising a casing (12) consisting of a fixed part (8) housing the rotor (24) and the hammers (26) and a movable part (10) hinged to said fixed part about a horizontal pin (14), said fixed part and said movable part being joined together along facing flanged edges (4,6), characterised by comprising: a hook element (28) pivoted to a connecting rod (32) hinged to the actuator rod (40) of a linear actuator (42), the other end of the connecting rod (32) and of the linear actuator (42) being both hinged to one of the two parts of the casing, the free end of the hook element (28) engaging in the other part of the casing, a cam element (54) cooperating with a corresponding guide member (50) during the operation of the linear actuator, one of these being rigid with the mill casing (12) and the other being rigid with the hook element (28).
