The force support module (10), especially to assist the movement of an overhead aircraft luggage compartment which swings down through the luggage weight, has a housing and a spring to give the supporting force with one end pivoting around an axis (Z) at the housing at one end and secured to a mounting point (P) at the other end. At the mounting point, a further force transfer unit carries the supporting spring force to a point outside the module. A rotating support (36) travels along a path (40) in the housing between two end points (A) which, with a loading sensor, acts on a setting unit (52) which rotates it according to the registered loading to set the support force level to match the load experienced. |
