A self-developing camera having a film chamber and spreading apparatus providing a narrow gap between a pair of spreading surfaces for spreading a processing liquid between negative and positive film sheets as the sheets move through the narrow gap and out of the film chamber through a film exit opening 20 in one end of the camera body has handengageable means 10 for holding the camera body whilst allowing the body freedom of movement in a plane containing the direction of movement of the film sheets and rotational freedom of movement about the said direction when the sheets are pulled manually through the exit opening. A strap 26 having a puller member 24 is looped around a metal loop 34, the loop pivoting in a stud (28) Fig.lA (not shown) which is freely rotatably mounted in an opening (32) provided in the camera body at an end of the body opposite the end containing the film exit opening. The centre of gravity of the camera preferably lies along the line 40 extending from the centre line of the film sheets to the point of attachment of the strap to the camera.
