FIELD: forming thrust in mobile media. ^ SUBSTANCE: method consists in imparting reciprocating motion to rod with bendable and flexible plate secured to its end; center of point of attachment of rod lies in axis of symmetry of plate and is shifted from its geometrical center towards leading edge at distance delta=0.2887.l where l is width of plate from frontal line of contour to its rear line. Proposed method is realized during operation of device whose bendable and flexible plate consists of two parts: front part is rigid and rear part is made in form of film. Contour of this plate has form of truncated ellipse; one axis of this ellipse is just rear line of contour. ^ EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. ^ 3 cl, 11 dwg
