The invention relates to a system for delivering materials into the skin of a subject, comprising applying to the skin a composition comprising said materials in combination with an effective amount of at leas t one carrier or micro-carrier. The invention also provides a method for implementing the absorption of materials applied to the skin, a nd compositions comprising the carrier and/or micro-carrier. The invention further provides moisturizers, cleansers and pharmaceutical compositions for use in treating the skin, and their methods of preparation.
