The device (1) is for the formation of a newspaper type product (2) and comprises a press for printing one or more paper webs (3), a device (4) for cutting webs into separate strips (14) and one or more units (5) for bringing the strips together and/or for alteration of their direction. Preferably, three or more folding and cutting mechanisms (6) sever and fold sections (15) of the strips and further devices (7,10,11,12) feed the section together originating from different folding and cutting mechanisms to form a product. The severed sections have a length which at least mainly conforms to the width of two pages of a tabloid-form newspaper.
