It is intended to disclose a preparation for rectal administration whereby a drug is hold in an affected part in the rectum or a lower part of the rectum and sustainedly released therein. Namely, a preparation for rectal administration comprising coated drug-carrying particles which are dispersed in a base, wherein the drug-carrying support comprising porous fine particles is coated with a water-soluble polymer having a specific viscosity.
