The tank has a base which is constituted by an annular ring (4) that is directly welded on an edge of an opening of the tank. The annular ring has an outer section corresponding to a lower section of a tubular connection zone. The ring has an outer diameter of 560 millimeters and 24 holes which are regularly spaced for receiving screws that are destined for fixation of a cover. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a metallic tank.
