Cosmetic composition (A), comprises hydroxy alkyl urea compounds (I) or their salts, solvates and isomers, and a hydrating agent (e.g. amino acids or their N-acyl derivatives, urea, cholesterol, an extract of Theobroma cocoa, dehydroepiandrosteone (DHEA) and its 7-oxidized and 17-alkylated derivatives, gamma -aminobutyric acid and a surface-active agent mixture), in a medium. Cosmetic composition (A), comprises hydroxy alkyl urea compounds (I) of formula ((R1)(R2)N-CO-N(R3)(R4)) or their salts, solvates and isomers, and a hydrating agent (amino acids or their N-acyl derivatives, urea, pyrrolidone carboxylic acid and its salts or N-acyl derivatives, sugars, alkylethers or their alkylesters, heterogeneous polyholosides, trehalose, ectoine, glycosaminoglycans or their sulfates, phospholipid and polymers containing of the phosphorylcholine groups, cholesterol, phytosterols, essential fatty acids, cinnamic acid, an extract of Theobroma cocoa, dehydroepiandrosteone (DHEA) and its 7-oxidized and 17-alkylated derivatives, alkylesters of (dihydro)jasmonic acid, agents increasing the differentiation of the keratinocytes, gamma -aminobutyric acid, a surface-active mixture (of an ester of 6-22C fatty acid and glycerol, a diester of 6-22C fatty acid and citric acid and glycerol, a 10-30C fatty alcohol and surface-active geminated compound (II) of formula (R13-C(=O)-N(Y1)-R12-(N(X)-C(=O)-R11)n)), in a medium. R1-R4H, 1-4C alkyl or 2-6C hydroxy alkyl (containing 1-5 OH); R11, R131-25C alkyl; R12a linker of 1-12C alkylene; X, Y1 : -(C2H4O)a, (C3H6O)bZ; Z : H, -CH2-COOM, -SO3M, -P(O)(OM)2, -C2H4-SO3M, -C3H6-SO3M or -CH2(CHOH)4CH2OH; M : H, an alkaline or alkaline-earth ion, ammonium or alkanolammonium; a : 0-15; b : 0-10; and n : 1-10. Provided that at least one of R1-R4 is hydroxyalkyl. Provided that the sum of a and b is 1-25. Independent claims are also included for: (1) cosmetic treatment of a dry skin comprising applying (A) and a moisturizing agent on the skin; and (2) a cosmetic unit, comprising a recipient delimiting a compartment, where the recipient being closed by a closing element, and (A) placed inside the compartment.
