A rotation sensor (1) comprising a rotation detection section (3) for detecting the rotation of a rotation body (2) and outputting a first signal dependent on the rotation of the rotation body (2), an input section (5) for receiving a second signal different from the first signal, a signal forming circuit (7) for forming a pulse signal having a period dependent on the rotational speed of the rotation body (2) in response to the first signal outputted from the rotation detection section (3), and an alteration means (8) for altering, according to the second signal received by the input section (5), the inclination of at least either rising or falling of the pulse signal formed by the signal forming circuit (7).
