<p>The method involves giving a start-up signal and/or a shut-down signal and/or other signals for a driving route detecting computer and/or a reading computer in a vehicle by an electronic base card e.g. vignette, with an embedded chip. The card is interposed in the computer or readably associated to the computer. The route detecting computer/reading computer autonomically operates with a separate power supply in the vehicle. An independent claim is also included for an arrangement for detecting a driving route of vehicles on a road way.</p>
