A spinning pack (7) is mounted in a recess (6) in the spinning beam housing (1) to provide a distance (E) in which the emerging filaments are shielded from the cooling air. The mounting includes arrangements, e.g. a screw thread (5), which allow the distance (E) to be adjusted. The distance (E) can be fixed by a peg, an end stop or a stepwise bayonet connection. The arrangements include a locking mechanism for the appropriate distance. The pack itself contains an exchangeable distance plate so that the sealing method between the inlet duct (2.2) and the filter in the pack (7) remains constant.
