The present invention relates to a device and method for determining the calorie content of an object. Furthermore the invention relates to a computer program for determining the calorie content of an object, when the computer program is executed in a computer. In order to provide a technique allowing a user-friendly determination of calorie contents an easy and automatic determination of calorie values is provided by combination of different examination techniques. The invention proposes to combine a weight measurement and a chemical analysis. From the examination results the calorie content is determined. The present invention leads to an easier a faster determination of the calorie content. The examination techniques can be implemented such that they work in a completely automatic way. A detailed user interaction, e.g. by pressing certain keys etc., is not necessary. The invention gives people the possibility to control their every day food and increases their quality of life.
