A wind-powered utility supply for a remote e.g. island dwelling delivers both electrical energy for lighting and the power to operate a sea water desalination plant. Further claimed is that the upright windmill or wind turbine blades are positioned within a protective domed frame. The wind turbine blades are fabricated from a non-corroding material.
