A display comprises a plurality of scan electrodes extending along a first direction and arranged parallel to each other, a plurality of electrodes extending along a second direction perpendicular to the first direction and arranged parallel to each other, a display section having, in a pixel where a pair of the scan electrode and data electrode cross, a light-emitting layer and a dielectric layer held from the direction perpendicular to the surface between the scan electrode and the data electrode, and an erase pulse supply means for supplying to the light-emitting layer of each pixel an attenuation voltage pulse which starts at a voltage lower than the light emission start voltage at which the light-emitting layer starts light emission and polarity of which alternately reverses between positive and negative ones.
