PAINT FILM THICKNESS SIMULATION METHOD

A paint film thickness simulation method capable of reducing a calculated amount while maintaining an accuracy at the same level as in a conventional method in a paint film thickness simulation for acquiring the film thickness distribution values of a coated object by simulating the painting process for the coated object by a computer system. The position of a painting gun and the position of the painted object are read at specified intervals (S120, S130), and the film thickness value distribution values at the position of the painting gun are acquired based on a read reference paint pattern (S100, S180). Namely, the film thickness distribution values are acquired for each intermittent point. Then, the film thickness distribution values at the position of the painting gun are added to acquire the film thickness distribution values of the painted object (S190).
