The device has an input mechanism (20) for entering the desired cooking stage (K0.K9) and a computation mechanism (14) for calculation of the necessary cyclic duration (D0.D9) of the heating device (10). The collection mechanism (18) seizes the actual main voltage (N). The amount of heat in the heating device is maintained at a predetermined value for the respective cooking stage (K0.K9). An independent claim has also been included for the method of power control.
