OPTICAL/ELECTRIC CLOCK SIGNAL EXTRACTION DEVICE

There is provided an optical/electric clock signal extraction device capable of simultaneously and directly extracting optical and electric clock signal from optical data signal having deteriorated waveform. The optical/electric clock signal extraction device can improve the clock extraction sensitivity from the optical data signal, reduce the necessary power of the optical data signal, extract the optical clock signal of the bit rate different from the optical data signal, and freely set the wavelength of the optical clock signal and the wavelength of the optical data signal. The optical/electric clock extraction device constitutes a closed loop positive feedback circuit to which an optical data signal is inputted and performs phase synchronization with the optical data signal. The optical/electric clock extraction device can simultaneously generate an optical clock signal and an electric clock signal having a constant amplitude. The optical/electric clock extraction device includes: an optical clock signal source driven by the electric clock signal; and an electric clock extraction circuit which receives the optical clock signal and the optical data signal outputted from the optical clock signal source via an optical directivity coupler and outputs the electric clock signal.
