An automated carrier-based pest control system (10} is provided that includes a substantially automated sprayer (14). The system (10) also includes a container (16) in fluid communication with the substantially automated sprayer (14) for holding a mixture of carrier-based ingredients (38a,ó), including one or more forms of wax, for discharge from the substantially automated sprayer (14). The system (10) also includes one or more discharge control units (18) operably connectable to the substantially automated sprayer (14) and to the container (16) for regulating discharge of the mixture of carrierbased ingredients (38a,b).
