Verfahren zur Herstellung von Tris(acetylacetonato)iridium(III)

A process (A) for the production of tris-(acetylacetonato)-iridium(III) involves: (a) reduction of an iridate(IV) solution to an iridate(III) solution, (b) addition of acetylacetone (acac) or acac salt(s), (c) neutralization to pH 6.5-7.5, (d) heating at about +70 degrees C and/or for about 48 hours and (e) separation of the precipitated complex. An Independent claim is also included for a similar process (B) for the production of the same complex starting from a ca. 0.1-M halo-iridate(IV) solution instead of an iridate(IV) solution.
