<p>The invention relates to a device for the line monitoring of the health status of a teat of a dairy female and/or the health status of the milk produced therefrom. Said device comprises: a means for connecting (120, 125) to the milking equipment (100), and for collecting or transporting milk in order extract a milk sample; a means for preparing said milk sample (165); a measuring means (170) comprising a photosensitive detector (175) which supplies a signal representing the presence of pre-determined cells in the prepared sample; and a means for detecting mastitis (195) according to the signal supplied by the photosensitive detector. In one form of embodiment, the pre-determined cells contain polynuclear leukocytes and the connecting means is connected to a milking claw (105) for extracting the milk sample during the milking process, the detection means being adapted in such a way as to supply mastitis detection information during the milking process.</p> |
