In an imaging device (10), an output unit (14) performs digital output of an image generated by an imaging unit (12). A synchronization signal generation unit (16) is equivalent to a valid area signal generation unit which generates a synchronization signal equivalent to a valid area signal representing a valid area in the image. The synchronization signal is outputted together with the image from the output unit (16) and reports the output timing of the valid area to outside. A hand-movement detection unit (20) detects a movement amount of the hand movement. According to the movement amount detected, a control unit (22) changes the synchronization signal as the valid area signal so as to correct the hand movement. Thus, the imaging device executing digital output can correct hand movement.
