Apparatus and method for processing planar flexible materials

The table-like, planar surface (21) is the upper side of a panel (20). This can be swung through 90[deg] between horizontal and vertical positions; it may also be over-swung (partially inverted). A clamp (25) secures an edge of the material being processed (30), at one edge of the surface. On swinging the table, this forms the upper edge of the surface (21). The panel can be swung to between 95[deg] and 105[deg], from the horizontal. It is equipped with a vibrator. The arrangement allows the cloth to be fixed at one edge, swung to hang it under gravity and to be subjected to vibration. An independent claim is included for the corresponding method of processing.
