A stabilizer bar and bushing assembly

A stabilizer bar assembly 12 for a vehicle suspension system is disclosed. The stabilizer bar assembly 12 has a stabilizer bar 14 that is provided with an annular ring 40. A bushing 38 having a groove 48 on its inner diameter is assembled to the stabilizer bar 14 for co-operation with the annular ring 40 to stabilize the stabilizer bar 14 against transverse displacement. A rib 50 is formed on an outer surface of the bushing to transfer transverse loads from the bushing 30 to a bracket 36.
