A bearing arrangement for rolling-mill cylinders comprises two roller bearings 3a, 3b with a double-acting ball thrust bearing 4a positioned therebetween. An inner ring 6 of the ball thrust bearing 4 is provided with grooves 8a, 8b, each of which receives therein an end of an inner race 9a or 9b of the roller bearings 3a, 3b. The inner races 9a, 9b have shoulders 10a, 10b respectively formed thereon to facilitate the retention of the bearing arrangement in a housing 2. A cage 12a or 12b may be provided for the roller bearings 3a, 3b. The distance x from the shoulders 10a, 10b to the respective rollers should be less than two-thirds, for example, one-half of the depth y of the grooves 8a, 8b. In a modification the double-acting ball thrust bearing is replaced by a double-acting roller thrust bearing. |
