A powered vehicle, for example a wheelchair, for personal transport comprises a frame 10, wherein the frame includes a first frame part 14 provided with a ground engaging wheel 17, a second frame part 21 carrying a seat 12, and a connecting assembly operatively connected between the first and second frame parts. The connecting assembly provides for relative movement of the second frame part between an operative first position in which it is spaced above the first frame part for use, and a second position in which it lies closer to the first frame part to reduce the volume occupied by the frame. The powered vehicle also comprises a drive assembly 11 which is releasably connected to the frame by way of a inter-engaging formations which are so shaped as to be brought into rigid inter-engagement by a bending moment imposed on them in normal use of the vehicle. |
