A drying apparatus 10 drying an interior of a building comprises an air inlet arrangement 12a, 12e receiving moist air from the interior of the building, a heating arrangement 14 heating a proportion of the moist air from air inlet 12a provides heated air, a dehumidifying arrangement 16 removing moisture from a proportion of the moist air from air inlet 12e provides dehumidified air, and a dried air outlet 18 supplies heated air from the exterior of the building and the dehumidified air from within the building to the interior of the building. Heating arrangement 14 may comprise of a gas burner 22. Dehumidifying arrangement 16 may comprise of rotating desiccant wheel 36 with a dehumidifying section 38 in communication with air inlet 12e and a regeneration section 40 in communication with air inlets 12a, 12e via a flow control flap 56 and is exhausted to the building exterior via outlet 50. Subsidiary air inlets 12b, 12c may be provided to communicate temperature and flow control of the heated air from heating arrangement 14 to a duct 44 via a flap 46 and further communicates with a heat extraction portion 48 of a rotary heat exchanger 42 before exhausting though outlet 50. Heated air from the building exterior passed into the building via the outlet 18 may be heated by a heat recovery portion 52 of heat exchanger 42.
