<p>is prepd. by heating a 3:1 mixture of (C6H11)MgX and SnX4 (X = Br or pref. Cl) at 25-105 degrees, pref. 90 degrees, in a hydrocarbon solvent contng. a diluent to give (C6H11)SnX, hydrolysing the mixture with water, separating the org. layer, causticising it, and cooling to ppt. (C6H11)3SnOH. Pref. the solvent is xylene, the diluent is tetrahydrofuran, hydrolysis is at 30-50 degrees, causticisation is by NaOH at 25-75 degrees, and (C6H11)3SnOH is pptd. by cooling to -10 to +25 degrees.</p> |
