The present invention relates to the succinate salt of (1S,4R)-cis-4-[2 - amino-6-(cyclopropylamino)-9H-purin-9-yl]-2-cyclopentene-1-methanol (See formula I) or a solvate thereof, to pharmaceutical formulations containing such a compound or pharmaceutical formulations, and to its use in medical therapy or in methods of treatment or prophylaxis of a viral infection, specifically human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection.
