Described herein is a novel solid form of the 9- deoxo-9a-aza-9a-methyl-9a- homoerythromycin A compound, said compound being elucidated by diverse analytical methods which correspond to the crystalline anhydrous form, having a tetragonal crystalline system, a spatial group P42212, cell constants a= 14.452 A0, b = 14.452 A0, c = 41.645 A0 and volume 8698 A03. Moreover, herein is depicted the process for obtaining said compound from the pseudopolymorphic forms: amorphous, monohydrate, dihydrate, or from the salts or other by-products thereof, or from other polymorphic or solvated forms.
