<p>Electric cable consisting of insulated conductors surrounded by non-hardening jelly-like substance. N--. Has a water-tight casing. The conductors are insulated by a synthetic/paper laminate wrapped round the conductor with the paper on the inside of the laminate. The overlapping edge is sealed. The preferred synthetic material is polyethylene. The space between the conductors, and between the conductors and the casing is filled with a jelly-like substance, pref. petroleum jelly. The flow of water along the inside of the cable, in the event of damage to the casing, is prevented.</p> |
